Marketing Intern

About Little Bat Games

Little Bat Games is an independent studio that tells deeply researched stories with humor, heart, and unexpected gameplay. We're the creators of the award-winning Vampire Therapist, recognized at BAFTA, Games for Change, and beyond. We're a small, collaborative team that punches well above our weight — and we're looking for someone eager to grow with us.

About the Role

We're looking for a Marketing Intern to help amplify our voice and connect with players around the world. This is a creative, hands-on role where you'll contribute to real marketing campaigns, craft social media content, and help build the communities around our games.

You'll work closely with our team to develop content that captures the quirky, heartfelt spirit of our games. From writing engaging social posts to analyzing what makes our community tick, you'll gain practical experience in indie game marketing while helping us reach new audiences.

What You'll Do

  • Create and schedule social media content across platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Bluesky, Discord, that apartheid loser's website)
  • Engage with our community — respond to comments, share fan content, and foster positive conversations
  • Assist with content creation including screenshots, short-form video, memes, and promotional graphics
  • Help plan and execute marketing campaigns for game launches, updates, and events
  • Monitor social media trends and identify opportunities to join relevant conversations
  • Track and report on social media metrics and campaign performance
  • Research influencers, content creators, and press contacts for outreach opportunities
  • Support the creation of press kits, newsletters, and other marketing materials

What We're Looking For

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in marketing, communications, media studies, or a related field
  • Strong writing skills with an eye for voice and tone — you can write copy that's fun, authentic, and on-brand
  • Active on social media with an understanding of what makes content engaging on different platforms
  • Into video games — bonus points if you've played Vampire Therapist or follow indie game communities
  • Basic graphic design or video editing skills (Canva, Photoshop, CapCut, or similar)
  • Organized and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Creative thinker who brings ideas to the table
  • Nerds

Nice to Have

  • Experience running social media accounts (personal brand, student org, or professional)
  • Familiarity with social media management tools (Publer, Hootsuite, Sprout Social)
  • Experience with analytics platforms (Instagram Insights, Google Analytics)
  • Understanding of the indie game landscape and gaming culture
  • Experience with Discord community management
  • Interest in narrative-driven or socially impactful games
  • Non-profit mindset (how do we do something without paying a billionaire for the privilege?)

Details

  • Duration: 3–6 months, with potential to extend
  • Location: Remote (must overlap with Central European Time Zone by 6 hours)

Little Bat Games is committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. We encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences.
